Is Poxet 30 Mg safe with other meds?
Répondre

Poxet 30 mg contains dapoxetine, which is a medication used to treat premature ejaculation (PE) in men. When considering the safety of Poxet 30 mg with other medications, it's essential to understand potential interactions and considerations:

Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) and Serotonin-Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitors (SNRIs): Dapoxetine, the active ingredient in Poxet, is an SSRI specifically designed to treat PE. Using Poxet 30 mg concurrently with other SSRIs or SNRIs can increase the risk of serotonin syndrome, a potentially serious condition characterized by high levels of serotonin that can lead to symptoms like agitation, hallucinations, fast heart rate, and high blood pressure. Therefore, simultaneous use with other antidepressants is generally not recommended without medical supervision.

Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs): Combining dapoxetine with MAOIs can also increase the risk of serotonin syndrome. MAOIs include medications used to treat depression and certain other conditions. It's crucial to inform your healthcare provider if you are taking or have recently taken MAOIs before starting dapoxetine.

Medications for Erectile Dysfunction (ED): Dapoxetine (Poxet) is sometimes used in combination with medications like sildenafil (e.g., Viagra) or tadalafil (e.g., Cialis) for the simultaneous treatment of both ED and PE. However, this should be done under medical supervision due to potential interactions and effects on blood pressure.

Other Medications: Always inform your healthcare provider about all medications you are taking, including prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements. Certain medications, such as antifungals, antibiotics, and HIV medications, may interact with dapoxetine, affecting its effectiveness or increasing the risk of side effects.

Alcohol: Avoid consuming alcohol while taking Poxet 30 mg, as it can increase the risk of dizziness, drowsiness, and impaired judgment. Alcohol may also worsen certain side effects of dapoxetine.

Pre-existing Conditions: Inform your healthcare provider about any medical conditions you have, including liver or kidney problems, heart disease, and bleeding disorders. Dapoxetine may require dose adjustments or careful monitoring in these cases.

Always follow your healthcare provider's instructions regarding the use of Poxet 30 mg and discuss any concerns or potential interactions with them. They can provide guidance tailored to your specific health needs and help ensure safe and effective treatment for premature ejaculation.
